This provision virtually guaranteed the Colorado law would eventually be challenged, which happened in August 2019.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2753848?guestaccesskey=d61dd096-0bab-4e31-80b1-6c95681c9b5b&amp;utm_content=weekly_highlights&amp;utm_term=110219&amp;utm_source=silverchair&amp;utm_campaign=jama_network&amp;cmp=1&amp;utm_medium=email#jvp190143r1\">1<\/a><\/sup> The current legal case directly pits  the conscience rights of individual health care professionals against those of religiously affiliated corporations.
